The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities participates in the 13th Annual One Million Dollar Giveaway to Fight Hungermillion2

The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities (PCRC) is again participating in a nationwide two-month-long fund-raising project that will enable it to share in a million-dollar giveaway to more than 2,000 agencies across the country. “By donating cash, checks and food items to the Cluster Outreach Center, our primary site for food, clothing and emergency assistance distribution, during March and April, area residents will enable us to share in the giveaway that will be divided proportionately among all agencies participating in the challenge,” - Barbara Wilhelmy, executive director at the Cluster.

Thursday Night Thunder” Bowling Program and Events:

In Fall of 2009 Thunder Outreach Ministries joined forces with the Church Bowling League at Jay-Lanes in Douglassville for a pilot program called “Thursday Night Thunder”. This program was aimed at helping the Pottstown Cluster Outreach center, a faith-based community...y outreach ministry dedicated to helping those in need within the Pottstown Pa. communities.

For the months of October, November & December, Thursday Night Thunder was held on the 3rd Thursday with a different theme each month. Throughout the 3-months that the program ran we were able to collect over 250-lbs of non-perishable food, 30- blankets and $175.00 in “Spare change” monetary donations to help those in need within the local community.

In addition to sharing the love of God with those in the community, Thunder Outreach also took some time to recognize the achievements of the members of the Jay Lanes Church League by awarding both the individuals & teams with the highest # of strikes on the nights that “Thursday Night Thunder” took place.

Week 1 saw Mike Nester taking home the trophy w/ 28 strikes in the Individual Category. Week 2 it was Ron Lichtley knocking down 25 strikes matched by Russ Minninger, also w/ 25 strikes, in week 3. Great work, guys!

· The team from Shepherd of the Hills Church dominated the Team Category by sweeping all 3 weeks w/ strike counts of 88, 85 & a whopping 104! Way to go TEAM!

We would like to thank the Jay-Lanes Church League for their involvement w/ the Thursday Night Thunder program. We also look forward to working w/ them in the near future in continuing to make a difference in the lives of those in need within the Pottstown community.

If your church bowling league, or other organization, would like more information on how you can partner with Thunder Outreach Ministries to positively impact those within your community, please e-mail us Mark@ThunderOutreach.com

God Bless and have a Great Day!!

We are excited to be partnering with the new Wegmans store, opening in October 2009 in Collegeville. On September 17th we were fortunate to have Wegmans supply a tractor trailer load of non-perishable food to our Cluster Outreach Center and were able to share that food with several other food banks and programs serving clients in our area. Thank you Wegmans for your generosity.
